Congratulations!, Disney fans. The Jonas Brothers are about to get bigger than ever!
The teen pop stars have signed on to make their big screen debut in Walter The Farting Dog, the trade journal Variety reports.
The boys will appear alongside their younger brother Frankie – sometimes known as the “Bonus Jonas” – in the film, which is scheduled to start shooting in Spring 2009.
Based on a bestselling series of books by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray, the movie casts the teen heartthrobs as musicians whose sickly great-aunt asks them to care for her stupendously smelly canine companion.
“By the time they’ve driven the dog home, everybody’s head is out the window of the family station wagon,” said Peter Farrelly – half of the famous Farrelly Brothers directing team – who has been closely involved in developing the film. “But Frankie has a serious sinus problem and doesn’t notice the stench coming from Walter.”
So while his siblings provide the music, Frankie and the gaseous pooch get involved in a series of family-friendly adventures, eventually thwarting a team of jewel thieves.
This may be their first major movie, but Nick, Joe and Kevin are certainly no strangers to the camera. Their TV flick Camp Rock was a mega-hit, and they’re now preparing for their own Disney series, J*O*N*A*S.
Tokio Hotel, who won the MTV VMA category ‘Best New Artist’, and Jonas Brothers have one thing in common: while Tokio Hotel are currently superstars in Europe who are successfully capturing great attention and fans across the United States, the superstars from America, Jonas Brothers, have planned to conquer Europe.
No wonder the guys had a lot of things to tell each other, when they met shortly before the MTV VMAs in New York. They got along great and shared a lot of experiences, and for sure there will be more, next time they meet each other
The Jonas Brothers and their band (the entourage included Frankie, Big Rob, Garbo and the string players!) teamed up against Team Verizon!
Watch this new vid! It shows everything from the rock-paper-scissors match to determine the first team up, Kevin rounding home plate (with excitement!!), Nick stealing bases, Joe catching pop ups, and Big Rob “helping out” Frankie!
THE JONAS BROTHERS insist they are “just like everyone else” when it comes to looking for love - but admit they don’t have enough privacy to get to know girls.
The sibling trio, who wear purity rings to signify their no-sex-before-marriage rule, find it hard to devote themselves to relationships - and blame their fame for hindering their love lives.
In a question and answer session on their website, they say, “We are just like everyone else when it comes to love and attraction.
The hard part is finding a place where we can have privacy to get to know someone.”
Youngest brother Nick has been linked to Disney stars Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, while 19-year-old Joe has been connected to country star Taylor Swift - and the brothers have not rule out dating a fellow celebrity again.
They add, “A lot of the celebrities we have met are normal people too. It really depends on the person. You can have drama with anyone if they are prone to drama.”
Girls will be girls. And, as Demi Lovato knows, they can be all too cruel.
On Wednesday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Disney star opens up about the bullying she endured in 7th grade – teasing that eventually prompted her to be home-schooled.
“I never really understood why [I was being bullied] until looking back,” she says, noting that she was already a working actress – which made her an easy target. “I had a different lifestyle then everyone else.”
Now the Camp Rock star hopes to use her fame to help other girls.
“I want to help with bullying,” she says. “Because there are girls who can’t just up and home-school and focus on their career.”
DeGeneres was a sympathetic – and outspoken – audience. Bullying is “just so horrible …” she says. “And somebody has to stop it. It goes on in schools for a lot of different reasons. That’s really a shame.”
