For those of us who follow “Hunger Games” casting news as closely as the Capitol watches its citizens, today is bittersweet: The final main character in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian masterpiece has been cast.

Lionsgate announced today via its official Twitter feed that Hollywood veteran Donald Sutherland will play capricious Capitol-head President Snow. And all I have to say is, brilliant.

Okay, I do have a bit more to say about it. Namely, I think Donald Sutherland is a perfect fit for the role of Panem’s dastardly president (aside from his imposing 6′4″ stature, seeing as Snow is described as a small man—but I’m not going to quibble over inches here). My favorite roles on Donald’s diverse resume are those in which he plays the benevolent mentor (Merrick in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” Lucien Willbanks in “A Time to Kill”), but Donald can just as easily play creepy (see his murdering fascist in “1900″) and shady (see mysterious X in “JFK”).

So good on you, Lionsgate, for rounding up such an accomplished band of actors like Donald, Stanley Tucci and Woody Harrelson for “The Hunger Games”‘ supporting characters. We can’t wait to see the results!

Miles announced on her Twitter last night that she is going to be taking a break from Twitter of sorts. She said she will be going home for a few weeks for some private time before her tour starts back up.

Here is what she tweeeted:  “I don’t want you guys to think I am abandoning you. Im going home for a few weeks before starting tour back up so I wont be tweeting often. I am taking some much needed PRIVATE #metime LOVE YOU GUYS X”

That was very nice of Miles to let the fans know that she is going to be Twitter breaking for a little while.  We hope she enjoys her mini-vacation.
